Research
My research topic (and my PhD topic) is security in distributed, object-oriented systems.
Distributed, object-oriented systems like Java (with RMI) and CORBA allow
transparent, distributed, object-oriented programming. Unfortunately, it is very difficult
to configure security properties in such systems, because object-oriented applications typically
consist of very many objects which might have to be protected.
I developed a security model based on so-called Security Meta Objects, which allows to
implement special security policies for such systems, like transitive capabilities,
transitive access control lists and role-based principals.
If you want to read in more detail about this model, look at the publications section.
